Beware of doctors weilding meat thermometers

Migraines suck! I say this because I have had one for the past 2 days—hell I’d say it even if I didn’t have one for the past 2 days. I’m getting them quite often again. 3 years ago I used to get them a lot along with a tingling, numbing sensation in my limbs. I noticed that it always happened right around my menstrual cycle. So, I asked my doctor about it and we both agreed that I should talk to my gynecologist since it always coincided with my monthly best buddy. I don’t have a medical degree and that seemed to make sense even to me.

Cooking? Really….cooking?

I am a sports nut. I love sports—all sports, mainly football but really if there is a sport on television I want to watch it. I like to play sports too, but right now I’m talking about the sport of watching sports. To be honest though I’m sure I don’t measure up to a lot of fanatics out there. Slippery When Missing

Say you are a producer of the local nightly news.

You live in Colorado, where it has been known to snow on occasion (insert sarcastic tone.) There is a minor storm moving in over night–perhaps an inch or two on the ground.

There is also a missing child. A 12 year old boy who has been missing for over 24 hours.

And so it begins. My oldest child “N” has just finished second grade—which means he is on to third (yea, just in case you couldn’t figure that one out on your own). I’m not so crazy about this. Oh sure I’m thrilled that academically he passed what he needed to get in to the next grade level, but third grade???? That is when it all gets serious. The teachers are not all lovey-dovey anymore. The work counts. I mean really counts and no one holds their hand anymore.

No-MSG

Sometimes you have to think.

Years ago when I was still in college I had come home for the weekend to see my family. My brother, who was in high school, and I went out for Chinese food. So we are sitting there eating when I notice that someone had painted in pretty big writing some sort of message on the back wall.

I stare intently for a while, but I can’t figure out what it means.

Finally, my brother says, “What are you doing?”
